Sellers Wheel Apartments
With the outbreak of COVID-19 and the National lockdowns across the whole of the globe, many people were unable to access green spaces or spend long periods of time outdoors. Because of this, mental health declined significantly, seeing a rise in anxiety and depression. Oliver Scott‘s Sellers Wheel Apartments project creates a link between urban life and nature.
Along with the National Lockdowns, the use of online resources such as Zoom has increased substantially, which has rendered office spaces redundant. Scott’s proposal is to convert the unused office spaces into residential apartments for those in the higher bracket of earning with the prices of apartments ranging from £140,000 to £300,000.
Each apartment will have access to the gym and the selling point of the design, The Roof Garden; a place where residents can socialise, relax and have the feeling of being in nature. Residents will be able to grow their own food, creating a more sustainable community, the space will be surrounded by vines to block out the sound and wind to make the space as peaceful as possible.
