In this Masterclass Deryn Rees-Jones will discuss the importance of process, revision and editing when bringing a book into the world and reflect on her fascination with and the challenges of sequences and the long poem. She’ll read from her new work Hotel Amôur.

Rees-Jones is a poet, editor and critic. She writes often about women’s poetry and is the editor of the anthology Modern Women’s Poets (Bloodaxe 2005) and the accomanying critical volume, Consorting with Angels. She is also the editor of the award-winnibg Pavilion Poetry Series for Liverpool University Press. Her most recent critical book, Paula Rego: The Art of Story (Thames and Hudson, 2019) is a full length study of the artist. Her new book-length poem, Hotel Amôur, is a poetic sequel to her 2019 TS Eliot Prize shortlisted Erato.
