Joanne Lee is a Sheffield-based artist whose work focuses on repeated investigations of particular sites, with an attention to how the local intersects with the global, and the human with the more than human. Her tools are walking, listening,  photography and creative non-fiction writing, through which she ‘essays’ ideas and places using printed/projected/audio words and images. Her artistic practice connects to voluntary work with Sheffield River Rangers, various community gardens and other environmental initiatives: this talk will focus on She is Course Leader for Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University and a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of the West of England. She is a member of Smatterings (Studio Matterings) a
multi-university pedagogic research group on Fine Art education.
