The Disabled Flaneur: Re-thinking Walking Practices

Phil Waterworth is a multi-disciplinary artist and PhD candidate based in Sheffield whose practice spans collage, drawing, photography, sound and urban exploration. his research project, The Disabled Flaneur: re-thinking walking practices, is an exploration of the pyscho-geography of urban disabled spaces. Working from disability, he collaborates with a PA (personal assistant) as he explores the city. Using found materials, he composes his own responses to being disabled in an able-bodied world. He has performed his work at Theatre Deli, Sheffield and worked with documentary filmmaker, Dorothy Allen Pickard on a project for Sheffield DocFest. In 2024, he exhibited in The Margins, a two-person show with Andy Jackson.
