WILD (Willful Inflorescence /Lush Damage) Flowers

Jane Prophet will discuss WILD (Willful Inflorescence /Lush Damage) Flowers, an installation made through slow, low-cost processes of walking, observing, photographing, and pressing wild plants. Combining handcrafted paper botanicals with Al-generated projections, the work transforms modest materials into an immersive wildflower meadow. Prophet will reflect on “making do” through patient fieldwork and repurposing everyday tools—linking citizen science, ecological observation, and art. Her practice integrates computational media and scientific collaboration to explore more-than-human worlds, revealing how small-scale, resourceful methods can illuminate large-scale environmental entanglements. Prophet’s work is held in major collections, including the Arts Council of England.
