What is comics?  How does comics work?   Why is ‘comics’ used as a singular noun when discussing this complex, beautiful, serious artform?  Harriet Earle explores the history of comics demonstrating why comics is important and why we should use them.  The Graphic Novel Reading Room will provide over 200 comics to be enjoyed in a relaxed reading session, including the ones mentioned in the talk.  Dr Harriet Earle is Senior Lecturer in English and Creative Writing at Sheffield Hallam University.
