This exhibition celebrates the work of artist and Sheffield Hallam University art technician, Karl Christian Geleff. Geleff grew up in Denmark, but has lived in the UK for the last 45 years. Inspired by both nature and his environment, Geleff’s practice involves walking in the hills, finding natural and out-of-place objects, things dropped or lost by someone else. He brings these back to the workshop and casts them in bronze, a process where organic and manmade matter burns away.

Geleff says:

“Being an artist is a privilege. I have not had to make a living out of my art, but have been in a position where I have worked with art for the last 26 years.  I have been fortunate to work in an environment where I had room to practise my own work. As an artist, I comment on what happens in the world around us.  One cannot do much about it all, but I can point a finger at what I observe.”
