Poppy Woodeson (she/her) is an artist who finds her life both interesting and rather complicated… She made her name as Ben Woodeson (he/him) a maker of “deliberately dangerous” sculptures and installations. Some were ridiculously dangerous, some just played at it. Unsurprisingly (and deliberately), these generated quite some interest. Then the work gradually started to change… And then, so, finally did “Ben”. In 2021, “Ben” finally faced up to his/her own truth and came out as trans. And the work changed again…

The talk will wander gracefully across a range of topics probably including but not limited to the art made, childhood and adult traumas, dying and being resurrected, healing, residencies, identities, social attitudes and the importance of being nice to yourself and having a really good cup of tea.
