Wendy Ward is a practice-based PhD researcher at Hallam exploring the potential for enduring connections with and through our clothes. Ward’s practice embraces a range of methods including: image-making, creative writing, data visualisation, documentation, stitch, print, activism and clothes making and unmaking to celebrate the personal narratives embodied within our wardrobes. Her practice and research are informed by previous professional experience, as a designer in the fashion industry followed by a transition into education in the DIY /home-sewing movement where she taught hundreds of people how to make, adapt and love their clothes and wrote five best-selling sewing books.
