During Archie Mitcheson’s time at Sheffield Hallam University, he has developed products that strive to create a more inclusive world, such as the Jigsaw power tool that is well balanced before making the first cut, making it easier to use for less experienced users. He has also designed a computer keyboard that helps the older generations to use a computer in an increasingly online world.
Mitcheson’s goal to create an inclusive society is reflected in his career choice; he is currently designing, making and installing sensory spaces for school children. These spaces have proven to help children and people with disabilities relax when they are overstimulated.
