Harry Brown
Harry Brown is a student at Sheffield Hallam University with a passion for video games, which he has played extensively throughout his life. This enthusiasm led him to pursue a degree in game art, aiming to turn his passion into a career. However, the pandemic disrupted his experience, as much of the learning was replaced with YouTube video links.

Returning to university after the pandemic, Harry shifted his focus to an animation degree, concentrating on an area of game development that piqued his interest. His background in 3D modelling and animation from his previous course has given him a head start, which he continues to build upon in his final year major animation project.

Harry’s technical approach to this project involves treating it as an in-engine rendered cutscene from a video game. He plans to use 3Ds Max for animation and Unreal Engine 5 for environment creation and rendering. This method will enable him to produce high-quality content using industry-standard tools, helping him to break into the animation sector of the gaming industry.

The project is particularly significant to Harry as it encapsulates a decade of nostalgia. It celebrates the memorable times he has shared with friends playing Bungie’s ‘Destiny’ franchise, drawing inspiration from that universe.
