Imogen Wells is a designer whose key interest is designing for social change. Wells, believing that design can be used to initiate conversations about key issues in society, spent her final year focusing on issues within the current prison system, designing sensitive outcomes that support those in prisons now as well as initiating change for the future. As a keen illustrator, Wells uses emotive graphics throughout her projects as a tool for effective communication. After her degree, Wells is looking forward to continuing her journey in design to promote positive societal change.

The Hole: A Journey Through Solitude
Product Design
Once the visitors have collected headphones to listen to the narrative through, they will begin their journey through the corridor on the right. Dark and with unlevel flooring, it’s designed to disorientate and unnerve users along with the prison soundscape playing through peoples headphones.
