Joel Marrett, from Sheffield, England, is a student at Sheffield Hallam University specializing in 2D character animation. Joel’s love for drawing began at a very young age, but it wasn’t until 2018 that his interest in animation truly developed. This passion was sparked by learning about the inner workings of Japanese anime production and the people behind the shows he loves. Inspired by this newfound knowledge, Joel quickly aspired to become part of the animation process.

During this time, Joel also developed an interest in American cartoons, particularly those from the Golden Age. His animated short is a tribute to the medium of 2D animation, showcasing its most famous styles: American cartoons and Japanese anime.
