Kiera, an aspiring 3D artist from the UK, has a passion for bringing her interests into digital realities. Originally from Essex, she moved to Sheffield four years ago to begin her creative journey in Animation at Hallam. Prior to university, Kiera had never pursued any art-related subjects, having majored in business and science courses. Initially lacking the courage to start this new chapter, she gained confidence through an internship at a creative agency. There, she shadowed different teams and developed an interest in 3D CGI and the behind-the-scenes aspects of production, leading her to study Animation.

Kiera now aims to specialize in 3D animation. She finds inspiration in traveling and learning about different cultures, as well as attending art exhibitions and watching cartoons and animations. These interests drive her to learn new software and produce art. Her projects so far have mostly been personal, each motivating her to pursue her creative journey step by step. She hopes that these inspirations will be represented in her future work.

Her short film, titled 夏 (Natsu), which is the Japanese kanji for ‘Summer,’ is a 3D piece based on her personal experiences in Japan. Kiera chose this project idea because traveling is a significant source of inspiration for her. Through this film, she aims to share the parts of Japan she enjoyed observing, highlighting different locations and offering a slice of life in the city.
