Layla Gharib is a designer, thinker and a researcher with an interest in speculative design methods and educational research. Her practice is centered around people and the creation of participatory workshop experiences to facilitate conversations around the future. Gharib is a visiting lecturer within the graphic design department at Sheffield Hallam University and has over two years’ experience working as a researcher on collaborative projects exploring teaching and learning within the design studio and women’s visual and material voice making. Gharib has published writing in Design observer and has experience delivering her workshops with the Graphic Design Educators’ network. She hopes to continue her research and studies into the future of design education and the spatial qualities of learning.
