Though stemming from photography and video, Steffie Wood’s practice does not rely on the force of a single material but rather the free creativity of incorporating new processes. Wood explores the possibility of ‘what happens if?’ to work material unconventionally, with a sidewards learning approach that visualises confidence.
Each piece she creates is simultaneously an extension of accidental findings, with this she has built a collaborative space that is safe to discuss common instances of error like misalignment, glitches and corruption.
