Ting Lan, originally from Hunan, China, moved to Sheffield, UK, in 2010 with her parents. She has been drawing since she was six years old. When she first arrived in the UK, Ting couldn’t speak English fluently, but she found solace in art, which became her favorite subject as it transcended language barriers.

Currently, Ting is in her third year of studying BA Animation at Sheffield Hallam University. For her final module, she aims to create an animation that is deeply meaningful to her, drawing from her personal experiences. Before starting this course, Ting had no experience in animation; her background was in fine art, including painting and drawing with pens, with little experience in digital drawing. This project presents a significant challenge for her, but it is also a deeply personal and rewarding endeavor.
