Xiaozhao Ban is an illustrator, printmaker, and scenic painter. She has experience in interdisciplinary study, from scenic painting to illustration. During her MA, she focused on experimenting with various materials, such as Etching, Screen Printing, Blue Print, Hand Papermaking, and Linocut.

She believes that more new attempts will bring her inspiration, and she can choose a more appropriate method to express according to different works. It’s important for her to carry around a sketchbook with her, she will exercise her observation skills and ability to quickly process pictures through painting on site. This way of recording life and daily practice will give her ideas and confidence.
