Lucy Birch’s Body Trends project explores the exploitation of women in magazines specifically aimed at women and the harmful nature these have on their audience, past and present. The main goal was to comment on how women’s bodies are often treated like fashion objects, where body types go in and out of fashion. The project further examines how social media can have damaging effects on women’s body image, especially with social media speeding up the rate in which these trends go in and out of fashion.
