Lucy Waddingham explores the relationship between the mundane aspects of the city and human perspective in this showcase. She has preserved and repurposed discarded posters from the streets of Sheffield and created an installation that viewers can stand in and immerse themselves within the imagery. Alongside this there are several pieces imitating characteristics of a lived in city (road sign, road markings, old newspapers) which encourage you to not be a stranger who passes by it all but someone who can ‘LOOK AROUND WHERE YOU ARE GOING’. The project displays gratitude to the simplicities around us, the course of time that creates romantic erosions in the city, and the people who make their own mark in it.
