Aaron Mills’s project captures the tension between personal experience and collective memory through exploration of presence in absence. By focusing on the subtle traces left behind, whether physical or emotional. Creating a space for viewers to reflect on their own interactions, memories and identities. The use of sculptural forms through my damaged plaster pillows not only evokes the permeance of life but also invites deeper engagement. My practice allows exploration of how the past, both personal and collective, continues to shape the present, leaving lasting impressions that resonate beyond physical form. My plaster pillows subtly allow for the viewer to transport their own memories into each crevice of the sculptures creating a unique personal experience.
