‘Untitled Number 48’ gets its title from being the 48th painting Natasha Coddington has done. All the paintings she has done are titled the same way. Coddington never gives actual meaningful titles to her work as there isn’t any meaning to it. She allows the viewer to make their own mind up as to how it makes them feel. She believes by adding a set title and feeling to an artwork that isn’t about anything, it will only do the opposite to what she wants to achieve.
