Imelda Colverson
Imelda Colverson is an artist whose practice explores themes of trace, absence, memory and disconnection through material experimentation. Working across cyanotype, collage, installation, and painting, she uses abstraction to communicate emotional experiences through fragility and transformation. Influenced by the Irish folklore figure of the Banshee, her work investigates grief, atmosphere, and presence through layered and unpredictable processes. Using materials such as smoke, tracing paper, glass, and light, she explores how objects and surfaces can hold emotional meaning. Her degree piece, Ag caoineadh (“crying”), reflects these themes. She will continue developing her practice through a Master’s degree at Sheffield Hallam University.
