Simarjeet Kaur is a mixed-media artist whose practice centers on sculptural storytelling and character development. Kaur’s work explores childhood experiences through themes of mourning, memory and trauma using personal narrative to examine healing. Her practice question is how art functions as a form of therapy – both for the artist and the viewers. Kaur says, “I simply foster empathy and emotional connection through a carefully crafted form of materials that invites shared childhood experiences that could hold pain, comfort and healing.”
