Snow Day is a project rooted in dream logic. It’s driven by a sense of the sublime, of the unreal and a Hauntological atmosphere of destiny and doom. These ideas are recontextualised, their intangible and ‘just out of reach’ nature presented as fragmented ephemera- misattribution of memory is presented physically as catalogue pages and archived comic strips. Half-forgotten dreams are presented as videos that replay, their screens partially obscured.
The pieces featured relate to the concepts of awe, fear, transcendence, and innocence; of slowed time to decipher altered perspective- like moving through a dream where the context shifts.
It aims for a sense of cocooned displacement- a snow day has familiarity, it’s of this world but seems to live in a strange impenetrable place.
