Rehema Machuka has found studying interior architecture and design at Sheffield Hallam University an amazing and arduous experience. From starting during the covid pandemic in 2020, to being the runner-up in the 2022 NEWH scholarship competition, to undertaking work experience at TP Bennett in London, an architectural, design and planning practice, to successfully completing the final third-year project.

Machuka is truly grateful to the tutors, colleagues and NEWH for their earnest support. Not only has she become more confident, but she has also learned how to adapt to fast-paced environments. She has been able to broaden her networks and build a professional social media presence. Throughout the course, she has developed various skills that are essential in the industry and aspires to be a hotel, residential and commercial interior designer.
