Xiaoyuan Ma’s works are rooted in the revolutionary late 1960s to 1980s European conception of jewellery, using geometric forms to create wearable objects. Ma says: “I do not want my jewellery pieces sitting on conventional parts of the body like the neck and fingers. I want people to think about jewellery in relation to the body and its external space in a new perspective.’’
