Though Yu Zhenjiang’s background is in architecture and landscape, they find jewellery design lets them do something much more precious, and to them preferable- it gives Zhenjiang a chance to look for a small entry point into much larger social issues and phenomenon. 

The work ‘Show off your water’ uses water to express the gap between the rich and poor fifty years in the future, as a result of uncontrolled, rapacious human development. In this imagined future money is obsolete and the control of scarce water supplies represents new wealth, where the rich have water resources to squander, while some people don’t even have drinking water. This piece is designed to be used by the rich to distinguish themselves from the poor.
