Ellie Williams’ project 24 Hour People, delves into the concept of rave culture spanning the 80s, 90s, and 21st century, exploring themes of drug use and alcoholism. She examines the styling worn at these events, drawing inspiration from the vibrant colours and dynamic lighting depicted in images from that era. Additionally, Ellie aims to incorporate patterns found in the backgrounds of these images into her designs, translating them into material textures and colours. Her collection targets the modern-day raver, blending the desire for aesthetic authenticity with a keen sense of fashion. Designed for versatility, her clothing accommodates the fluctuating temperatures of a night out, transitioning seamlessly from the warmth of the club to the chill of the early morning walk home. Ellie focuses on creating oversized garments with freedom of movement, ensuring ease of dancing and maximum enjoyment for the wearer. Lightweight materials are prioritised, allowing the modern raver to fully engage in the nightlife experience.
