We are all familiar with the feelings associated with stress, but what we may not know is that the displaying of our collections can help to alleviate those feelings. For this project Hayley Nippers has used the jewellery making practice to create wearable artefacts which consist of different personal collections, making them portable and allowing the wearer to exhibit their collection on a day-to-day basis, rather than having a collection housed in a static display cabinet. Their portability then acts as a catalyst for conversation. The connections made between two like-minded people upon having a conversation about something they have in common has been shown to increase the production of endorphins in the body, making the wearer feel good and helping to combat the physical symptoms of stress.
