Grantham, through and through is a menswear project by designer India Moore. The project focuses on the designers’ connection to their small hometown, and the importance of deeply rooted familial bonds. The basis of the designers’ research came from old family photos, newspaper articles and history books of Grantham town; all collected by members of her family over several decades.
Moore’s source of inspiration for the design process came from the idea of a young boy who is desperate to play on the streets with his friends, pulling on the first clothes he can get his hands on, with no care for his appearance. The choice of fabrication came from the designers’ love of traditional and natural fabrics, as well as the art of hand embroidery and subtle detailing.
