Feng Xin-yu is fascinated by Whitby Abbey: its ruins and relics, the places where these buildings disappeared, seeing a correspondence with the relics of the East and Eastern aesthetics: space to imagine.
In this collection Feng reflects on what Whitby Abbey is, and the changes that have taken place over time. Her jewellery, deconstructs the structure and pattern of the building, and re-displays Whitby Abbey in her works, suggesting these historic relicts can be reborn in a new way.
