Touch brings people closer, fosters teamwork, and can even bring healing. In this project, Chen Chen uses performative jewellery to address the research question of how touch can be used to explore barriers to personal space and intimacy. What is this obstacle? Why did it happen? What kind of relationships create this obstacle? The most important thing is to explore how to break down such barriers.

The work is told from the perspective of ‘me’, and Chen, as an inviter, invite others to participate in the ‘performance’, an invitation to greater intimacy and closeness.

Chen says: “The whole work will show how the two can break down the barriers of personal space through touch and become more intimate, encouraging the audience to take the first brave step in interpersonal communication, if you can take this step bravely, your true heart can be transmitted to each other through touch.”
