‘Material World’ is a protest project aimed towards fashion designers, brands, and manufacturers about the long-lasting, damaging environmental impacts on global waterways that are caused by the fashion industry’s synthetic dye processes.

The aim of Leah McEwan‘s project is to make noise and expose the harmful and unsustainable practices within the industry to instigate change by putting pressure on brands for transparency within their supply chains. The accompanying website allows for interactivity and encourages the public to download and directly send their own postcards to fast fashion culprits who are responsible for contributing to pollution.

Alongside this, McEwan highlighst lethal manufacturing methods and how they severely impact humankind, designing two posters suggesting that the Cholera pandemic is back due to contaminated and clogged waterways.
