Wenxing Yan has designed a jewellery collection as a fantastical and grotesque fairy tale performance.

The collection aims to stimulate imagination and express emotion by connecting potential characters within the body through fairytale jewellery. Fairy tales are associated with adult healing: in a special fairy-tale atmosphere of therapy, the inner thoughts and feelings of the participants are revealed, conflicts and frustrations are exposed, anxiety is reduced, human potential or unrealised things are revealed and dreams are realised (Zinkevich-Evstigneeva, 2000).

Yan’s fairy tales explore the potential of the jewellery to interact with wearers of viewers to create a fantastical atmosphere and to provoke spontaneous imagination and communication changing their perception of their surroundings and revealing their own psychological states.
