Revolutionising Construction:
Postgraduate Design
The connection between ‘restored objects’ and ‘restored emotions’ is presented in the context of contemporary jewellery.
In today’s world of disposable consumerism, with everything so easy to obtain we become less appreciative of things. Against this background, Cheuk Man Au has researched and created ‘restored objects’. Visualising abstract emotions, she then uses a variety of different repair methods to repair these, the repair of objects becoming a metaphor for emotional repair as the three-dimensional heart shape is restored through different restoration methods and materials.
