The Anti Depression Toolkit / Futureless Foods

Self-help resources are a great solution to combating our rising mental health problems and shrinking support for those living with depression, if only they weren’t so long, academic and boring! Hollie Clarke‘s The Anti Depression Toolkit is an engaging and insightful way of helping ourselves to manage symptoms and upkeep daily routines. Using an inclusive and relatable tone of voice, helpful techniques and information are conveyed in an accessible manner, through a series of folded print matter. Each technique introduced is followed by an activity sheet to immediately put our new knowledge into action.

Clarke has also created Futureless Foods a provocation raising awareness of the impact of meat consumption on the climate crisis. It appears to sell meat and plant-based alternatives, not for money but for the carbon cost to the environment. Borrowing the language and style of typical supermarkets promotions, Clarke aims to capture the attention of a wide audience especially those who wouldn’t usually engage. The pop-up exhibition features a shelving unit to compare products, free weekly offers leaflets, full CO2 breakdowns of common items, and a family pledge with stickers.
