Through the research on the history and significance of weddings, this design will develop towards the direction that Shunshun Yang wants to study. In their wedding research, Yang has found that sharing is a very important aspect of weddings. When a wedding is held, small “gifts” are made for the wedding guests. Different countries have different customs about giving gifts. In China, people give a gift called “Xi Tang”. When the newlyweds attend the wedding, the guests share their happiness through “happy candy”. Therefore, the main material for jewellery creation in this design will be sugar. Sugar can come in a variety of shapes, depending on how it is processed. Yang used AGAR to turn sugar into jewellery. Sugar in various forms can be used to replace some of the most common materials used in jewellery creation.
Weddings are an important milestone in most people’s lives. At the same time, the wedding is the witness of the love of both parties, but also the beautiful memories of the future. The meaning of a wedding is the conclusion of two people’s exploration of the blossoming of love, and the beginning of two people’s continuing love. Therefore, Yang believes that their collectors can feel the joy and sweetness of the wedding while looking forward to it. The research on wedding decoration mainly focuses on three key parts: bouquets, wedding dresses and wedding venues (church), aiming to show how to better arrange and design the three key elements of wedding into jewellery.
Flowers are the focus of Yang’s design and sugar is the main material. They want guests to feel the joy and excitement of the newlyweds when they receive their gifts.
