Bold Magazine

Bold Magazine is aimed at girls aged 16-18 and promotes self-confidence and wellbeing. This magazine was created in response Anna Gregory’s research into improving self confidence in teenagers. Deciding on a magazine, as an offline space for an age group to absorbed in the online, Bold Magazine encourages girls to unwind, whilst giving space to tackle issues often neglected by teenage magazines.

Gregory is a graphic designer and digital illustrator who enjoys character design and making work for children. Her anime and manga influenced work is fun, colourful and animated and takes the viewer on a journey, “whether this be to a different world or just a new headspace”. Drawing from her own experiences, much of her work focusses on mental health “Art has been a huge part of my personal mental health journey and using it to help others in similar situations is really important to me and I want to continue this in future projects”.

Goodnight Mister Tom
Cover design submitted to the Penguin Student Design Awards in the young fiction category. The use of collage reflects the book’s World War II setting and the child’s viewpoint in the book.
Gnome
Illustrations made in collaboration with a creative writing student for her children’s story aimed at 3-5 year olds. The story was about Daisy and her dog, Tag, helping a gnome find a pond to use his new fishing rod in.
Buddy Up
An app design created to help people suffering from low mood and stress by creating a buddy to help with daily tasks and distraction.
A Troll's Tale
Double page spreads illustrated for a client brief. These were for a children’s book aimed at 4-6 year olds, about a misunderstood Troll teaching people to accept each other’s differences and not to judge by appearance.
Life Drawing
Digitised life drawings based on originals created in a life drawing class. Block colour is used to create form.
