Ben Shaw’s project explores the different approaches that could be taken to raise more awareness about the current issues with our climate, and how our forever growing industries are polluting our oceans, killing our marine species below.
Shaw created a mobile video game named “Free the Fish” to provide an insight into the reality of our waters, that with the Great Pacific Garbage patch growing 4x faster everyday, it is a harsh reality that our fish are dying quietly without us really knowing.
The aim of the game is to try and save as many fish from being tangled in our litter, whilst trying to collect the rubbish as well, players can compare scores with others and the higher the level, the harder the tasks get.
Shaw created several different visual concepts to explain the functions of this game, and how it would appear on screen.
The images show the visual concepts and functions of how the game looks and runs, with the home screen, character selection and the in game visuals shown. The different versions of advertisements shown will be used to attract the right target audience, that this game has been developed for.
