Nourish by Stephanie Dowd

Nourish is an earth conscious plant-based mylk delivery brand created by Stephanie Dowd. Swapping plastic milk bottles for reusable glass, customers are encouraged to return their glass bottles for reuse with incentives through the Nourish app.

All aspects of the brand consider environmental impacts and sustainability and build consumer awareness through conscious consumption with the ‘Drink, Return and Reuse’ motto. Nourish’s delivery lorries are equipped with solar panelled roofs, renewable power to keep the mylks chilled on route.

The app is a hub for all things Nourish featuring information on the brand’s core values, and allowing consumers to purchase mylk, book deliveries, and suggesting the many ways to enjoy Nourish. The app powers the incentive scheme including the subscribe and save 5% on all orders with regular/convenient deliveries.

Dowd’s work explores topics like climate change, sustainability, invisible disabilities and mental health, through developing branding, advertising, packaging, typography and layout.

Nourish
Open Magazine Mockup by Anthony Boyd Graphics. Research for the target market (20 - 40 yrs) showed that Gen Z interact with honest brands, Gen Y base their purchases on reviews and Gen X value coupons and services with a positive impact. This magazine ad targets them all with a focus on Nourish’s environmentally friendly ethos, honesty and positive impact.

Plush Quarters Hotel
Wayfinding concept, 2020 Plush Quarters is an independent, modern, mid-range hotel in Sheffield City Centre with homely touches. The typeface, FoundryGridnik, embodies the square quarters aspect, while also being rounded and soft, and is continued throughout the hotel. Uniquely designed icons are used for the wayfinding, helping navigation for the consumer.
Plush Quarters Hotel
Print menus, 2020. The breakfast and main menus use an underlying grid of quarters, and continues to use different weights of FoundryGridnik typeface for continuity in the brand. The mounting of the menu is on dark varnished wood to add a homely touch with texture.
Plush Quarters Hotel
Door signs, 2020. The 'do not disturb' signs playfully use the logo embodying each aspect as independent signs: the Q for ‘Quiet Please Do Not Disturb’ and P for ‘Please Clean My Room’. This creates a strong brand association through the letterforms, brand colours and typeface, used throughout the touchpoints: FoundryGridnik
Character Type, Physical Typography
A handmade typeface based on one of Dowd's classmate’s personality. The physical layers creating the type represent the walls she puts up, only revealed once you know her. The centre of the letters have been removed due to her lack of transparency.2017
INTI Exchange Project Invisible Disabilities
Posters and interactive design. A collaborative project on an exchange trip to Kuala Lumpur. The project casts a light on different mental health issues and shows, through pictorial typography, personal perspectives of mental health. The aim was to create an open conversation about invisible disabilities and strip away the stigma. 2019
Handmade Typeface
Digital design, 2019. "This typeface was designed for a project called if X then Y - a series of quick responses to topics I’m interested in. The type was created by hand, via a drawing tablet. I filled the type with colour, then duplicated it for the backdrop, creating this quirky and unique typeface."
