Adam Musgreave’s “Spike!” is a new modern application to help tackle the rising spiking cases across the UK. The application allows the user to test their symptoms and get a quick diagnosis. It shows them how their drinks would react to tampering, and how to check them. The app also has information on how the user can protect themselves, and their friends, while out in bars and clubs. It provides information on the different types of spiking and the effects they have on the victim, as well as what bystanders and friends can do if they think someone has been affected by drug or needle spiking. The app also provides the user all the latest spiking stories published across news platforms. 

In addition to these features, the app has an emergency contact page that directs the user to the local authorities instantly. It also has all the local medical centres on a map so the user can get to them if needed. There are also sections for the user to report physical and sexual assault and find help through contact numbers or addresses. One of the key elements of the app is a segment where the user can report the spiking locations and then any user can see where is safe to visit while out socialising. This information can then be stored and presented to the venues for them to act on this national issue. 

After having friends affected by spiking, Musgreave chose to design this app because it could help a lot of people, and make them feel safe while out socialising in bars and clubs. Because of this, he has also reached out to developers through LinkedIn to help him take his concept and make it a reality.
