Clothes. We all have them. We all need them. But do we buy too much?
Rebecca Bull’s magazine insert, Wardrobe Confessions investigates the negative impacts of the overconsumption of clothes and fast fashion. Using real people, the publication includes a collection of clothes inventories, a photo of their wardrobes along with a story about their clothes.
Using the insert format was a way to open the audience’s eyes to their own behaviours towards the consumption of clothes. Putting a group of real people within a glossy fashion magazine directly connects with readers, holding up a mirror through relatable life-stories. This was the ideal place to encourage change in buying habits and promote sustainable fashion.
Bull is currently studying a Master’s degree with a view to working in the publishing industry.
