With community pubs and social clubs closing at an unprecedented rate, Hannah Buckley has created a community edition set of beer bottles and caps – extending the famous Guinness brand and repurposing the tagline ‘Guinness is Made of More’ as ‘Made for the Community’
As social club treasurer Dave Mitchum says of the under threat South Acton Working Men’s club “There are no words. When it’s gone, the community is gone”. These establishments offer people the opportunity to socialise, celebrate family occasions, and weave communities together. Buckley has created ten designs for Guinness draught stout bottles and bottle caps, to both raise money to fight for the survival of the most threatened clubs (each bottle would include a donation) and to raise awareness of a much overlooked plight.
Buckley’s main focus as a designer is in Editorial, Packaging and Branding, but she enjoys experimenting and is currently improving her knowledge of Motion Design and UI/UX Design. She has worked as a design intern at C4B Media and Maze Media.
