Amelia Rose Caine has combined her love of drawing cats and nature with her passion for storytelling, creating Cats in Love, an adorable silent book with illustrations of two cats meeting and falling for each other. In this romantic, Parisian narrative, Caine emphasises that gender is never a barrier to love, and focuses on relationships with friendship and trust.

Cats in Love is Caine’s very first book, and succeeds in clarity and style. It uses a simple colour palette inspired by autumn, with browns and oranges, to give the work a cosy atmosphere. Caine is planning more books, each with a limited colour palette to reflect one of the seasons, (like pastels and yellows for Spring). These new books will be illustrated in a similar style to Cats in Love and showcase additional elements like floral paintings, or mixed media cut-out experiments.
