Kasama is a modern/traditional Filipino Restaurant inspired by the authenticity of materials used to build houses in the Philippines and the food in the culture. The meaning behind the name of the restaurant means “to be together”, and through this, the aim is to bring people together through good Filipino cuisine and an open space for customers to enjoy. Using the Sellers Wheel building for the restaurant space is convenient as its wide spaces accommodates in creating openness with the use of double-heighted ceilings. Throughout the spaces in the building, there are materials and patterns that are associated with the traditional patterns in the Filipino culture which have been carefully chosen to compliment as accents against the modern layout and interior of the building.
The second floor of the Sellers Wheel building is the apartment of the owner of the Kasama restaurant. It is a minimalist home with mostly timber material for the floor and walls. There are cohesive patterns between the restaurant and the apartment space to continue the open and the modern/traditional appearance.
