Nuo Chen‘s jewellery aims to comfort people who lack physical contact and give them a positive feeling. Using Chinese medicine and fabrics as the primary materials, Chen creates interactive objects, which worn in particular places on the body, relieve psychological stress through touch, treating the body physically and pharmacologically.
Chen believes that in craft making, the appearance and meaning of an object depend on the makers. “I will use handmade therapy for mental issues in the process of participator collaboration in this project. This project will focus on the therapy of the loneliness and anxiety that COVID-19 brings us by hand-making”.
