A teenage girl’s escape from her turbulent home life by heading off into space, forms the plot for Eliot Robinson’s hand drawn adventure animation Glints, with music by Chris Downie.

Building on his 2019 short animation Fingerfood (also with music by Downie) Glints

“is one of the largest and longest projects I have been involved with and the concept of Glints is still evolving today.”

These animations use a technique in which each frame of film is drawn by hand and Fingerfoods ‘plot’ concerns Robinson’s housemates’ hands and “what their busy digits get up to on a regular day of being attached to a lazy student”.

Using one ‘L’ and one ‘T’ to spell his first name and ‘Robinson’ to spell his surname, Eliot Robinson (1l_1t) is a Sheffield based illustrator and animator. Robinson’s recent projects have included a collaborative online zine about upcoming post-punk bands in London, an in depth study of creating art during lockdown and a plan for a Covid-19 public information film that engages the audience more than the real ones seen on television. He is currently working with an app company, where he is responsible for the graphic design and visual imagery within the company and is helping to re-brand the physical exercise app, with new logos, animations and colour schemes. He also works freelance and accepts commissions.
