Rehema Machuka has proposed re-designing Sellers Wheel as the new home of the premier tourist hotel of its kind in Sheffield city centre. Taking cues from her unique Kenyan Swahili culture and Sheffield, the hotel will daintily respect a rich blend of cultural diversity in its interior design of the narrow spaces within the building.

Within a soothing natural environment best suited for the target audience, the hotel will creatively stand out as the preferred destination for a sustainable health and wellbeing experience in Sheffield. Following three core principles of creativity, wellness and history, Machuka designed spaces that stimulate the senses to create a memorable guest experience. An appealing array of services including a restaurant, gym and accommodation will be available on booking.

In February 2023, Machuka undertook a two-week work experience at TP Bennett in London where she developed important technical skills for the industry, including Adobe Photoshop and AutoCad. Taking the lessons she learned from her work experience, Machuka has managed to apply these to her final third-year project. Having learnt from industry professionals about how to approach each project, to be disciplined, to manage time effectively and to work with deadlines, has greatly helped Machuka move forward and have a successful project.
