Qianjun Ye has designed a range of jewellery drawing on the idea that ‘imperfection is also perfect’ and with reference to the Japanese Wabi-Sabi style. She has styled these six pieces in the style of commercial jewellery and uses silver and leather to create these pieces. She used her name as her personal commercial jewellery brand and so KATE.YE was born of which she also commissioned the design of a logo.
KATE.YE is positioned as a niche brand, targeting young people. The brand features are ‘Customisation’. By dividing some of the remaining pieces from her MA project, the original piece becomes incomplete but still retains its beauty as an individual piece.
Ye divided each piece and made a pendant out of the pieces. Each pendant can be linked not only to a chain but also to a different pendant. The chains are available in four different lengths and the chains can be chosen at will.
